ἔμπαλιν

ἔμπᾰλιν, Adv., in Trag. and Prose freq. with Art., [full] τὸ ἔμπαλιν or [full] τοὔμπαλιν, [full] τὰ ἔμπαλιν (as always in Hdt.) or [full] τἄμπαλιν:—

A backwards, back,
